Makeup Setting Sprays: The Low Down!

Much of the makeup work I do requires makeup to last from very early in the morning until the early hours of the next morning. It’s all about longevity. Primer is essential, long wearing foundation, setting powders and then a setting spray, all form part of a long wearing flawless routine.

So, I decided to share my ALL TIME FAVOURITE setting sprays with you, these are all in my kit and I adore them for bridal and occasion makeup.

No.1
MAC FIX +
Hmmm, not really a setting spray as such. I often feel the name is a little misleading, however it’s a kit staple. I normally start with a mist of this for instant skin hydration and calming effect. It’s a super charged vitamin and mineral aqua mist which skin adores. Anything that has green tea, cucumber and chamomile in it is a winner in my book. You can also finish your makeup look with a spray of this to take the matte look away.

No.2
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
I’ve only recently started using this in studio and I think this may be the most sophisticated setting spray yet. Not only does it keep your makeup vibrant and smooth, but it actually lowers the temperature of your makeup, keeping your foundation, concealer, shadow, blush and contour in place for up to 16 hours. I do find its better for the combination to oily skins, though Urban Decay say its perfect for everyone…I just don’t like it on my very thirsty skin!

No.3
Model In A Bottle Original
The holy grail of setting sprays. With just a few sprays of Model in a Bottle you can lock in that perfect makeup look with no more touchups. Model in a Bottle Original Makeup Setting Spray is resistant to smudging, tears, humidity and water. It’s the perfect setting solution for normal to oily skin. Dries with a translucent matte finish, absorbs excess oil and doesn’t clog pores. Crazy about this stuff!

Have you tried any of these products? Do you only use them for nights out or special occasions? I’d love to hear what you think (leave comments below)!!
