I’m all about that base!
Getting your skin prepped and beautiful for makeup is easy-ish when you know how.
What is a primer and why would I need one?
Primers do many things but their main function is to prep the skin creating a smooth canvas for makeup. It helps to stop the oil from mixing with your foundation, thus saving you from having to top up with powders on an hourly basis.
I recommend you try Smashbox Oil Free Photo Finish if you are combination oily. If you have more bucks and wish to splurge well then go for Laura Mercier Oil Free Primer. It’s a water based product and is exceptionally good if you suffer from acne.
If, like me, your skin is dry and a little dull, try Charlotte Tilbury’s Wonder Glow. This is a flash balm giving such fabulous luminosity to the skin. I like to mix this with matte foundations to give them a little more oomph!
One of my all time favourites for dry to normal skin is Laura Mercier’s Radiance Primer. Again this is water based and gives that healthy glow to the skin. Perfect for the winter ahead!
