Get The Look: Smokey Eyes for Blue Eyes

Here is my step-by-step tutorial on how to get the perfect smokey eyes for blue eyes. Also be sure to pop over to our online shop to top up your makeup kit with some of our favourites! Shop

STEP 1. Prep the skin with a light moisturiser such as Holos Love Your Skin Face Cream (Buy Online!)

STEP 2. Apply a primer such as Smashbox Photo Finish Primer to the forehead, nose and chin area and blend outwards towards the ear.

STEP 3. Using a Medium coverage foundation, here I used Esteé Lauder Double Wear Light, blend it with a stipple brush or fingers in light movements over the skin.

STEP 4. Take a pinky toned concealer, I used Mac Pro Longwear Concealer in NW 20, and apply it sparingly under the eye and across the lid.

STEP 5. Conceal around the nose and chin area with a concealer, here I used MAC Select Cover Up in NC 30. Set with a Translucent powder, I used Mac Blot Powder in Medium.

STEP 6. Apply a medium brown shadow across the lid, such as cork from MAC, take a lighter colour and apply it to the socket line, remember to Blend, Blend, Blend.

STEP 7. Take the medium shade underneath the eye, under the lash line and keep softening it out so it doesn’t look like a line.

STEP 8. Using a dark brown pat it onto the outer corners of the eye and blend it underneath the eye also, bringing it in only a little. You can rim the entire eye if your eyes are quite large.

STEP 9. Take a warm orangey brown and blend it back and forth in the socket to warm up the look.

STEP 10. Line the eye with a Kohl Pencil, here I used Teddy and Coffee from MAC. I also added a gel liner (Inglot No. 77) over it to add a little more impact.

STEP 11. Add mascara to upper and lower lashes and individual lashes in medium and short. Define the brows with a little brow powder and an angled brush (Buy Online!)

STEP 12. Define the hollows of the cheeks with a little matte powder and add a highlighter over the cheek bones. I used MAC Mineralise Skin Finish in Medium Dark and MAC Soft and Gentle.

STEP 13. Add a gentle pink blush to the apples of the cheeks.

STEP 14. Finish with a Nude Mauve lippie such as MAC Viva Glam 11.

I hope this helps, and if you need any more inspiration why not pop in studio for a one to one lesson with our makeup team.

Happy Practicing!
